We often get asked what is the craziest item we’ve ever been asked to replicate in the shape of a flash drive. I always have to think as we’ve done some very original pieces. By the way, above are a few recent projects we’ve done. Why a carrot you ask….. we asked the same question! It was a part of a produce launch for an organic food store chain. It was paired with a cabbage, corn and tomato!

Back to the question, I think some of the most interesting drives are always those that portray people, whether presidents, monuments or historical items. However, don’t let this be a downer to you. Bring us a new one we’ve never done and we’ll be sure to get a graphic artists working on it. Aaron, our head of graphical design, loves a challenge. His most recent goal is to make a custom modeled flash drive for EVERY employee of CFgear that looks just like they do….. Creativity! Have to love it.

If your company is considering ordering bulk flash drives for your employees, the uses are endless. They can store thousands of digital files such as music, photos, texts, and even videos. What is even more great is that the information will be stored on a lightweight, easily-transportable device that is more efficient and effective than a CD or DVD.

If you are unsure whether your employees will actually benefit from a flash drive, consider some of the ways that they could be used.

1. Policies

Employee policies and standards could be uploaded onto the flash drive. The employee could simply insert their flash drive and review set policies and rules. OSHA standards could even be included on the flash drive. With all of the set standards in front of them, they will know exactly what is acceptable and what isn’t. continue

Here at CFgear, we always talk about and support the host of green initiatives underway throughout the world.  From recycled boxes, to reusable plastic, to literally shipping with recycled newspapers. Instead of getting your flash drives wrapped in yesterday’s grocery circular, we now use leftover rolls of newspaper from a local printer on some orders.  If you happen to get one wrapped in blank newspaper, don’t just toss it away.  To help motivate you to reuse it, sometimes we will write a note on the paper with a phone number to call me and get a $50 gift card for helping keep the “recycling cycle” going, so take a look before just tossing the packing paper away on your next order!

Recently, I was traveling through the mid west on my way to visit family.  Along the way, I kept notes on at least five ways I personally witnessed where flash drives could have saved time, money and the environment.  Here’s my list, in no particular order:

1. I needed new wiper blades after hitting a thunderstorm in Wisconsin.  When I went to the car care center, they nearly rolled out a catalog with 1000 pages of items in it.  Instead of printing that catalog – which probably has to be reprinted every couple of months – why not put it on a flash drive? It could then be updated as needed via the internet and copied conveniently to flash drives versus wasting hundreds of thousands of sheets of paper. continue
