College students who want to put their vacations to good use often take a correspondence course. They might take this course through their own college or might find a local community college that offers the same course. They can get a few credits out of the way and also find something to occupy their time if they don’t have much to do with their vacation time. Plus they can dress in pajamas and lounge on the couch as they listen to the lectures, being as comfortable as they want. They can work on the class on their own time, listening to a lot of lectures all together, or spreading them out over several days.

USB flash drives help college students succeed

Colleges can offer correspondence courses on USB flash drives.

Schools offer various formats for correspondence courses. Recordings of the lecture might be on CD, in mp3 format, or streamed online. There could even be video recordings of lectures on DVD or streamed online. With a laptop or an iPod, a student can easily sit down and listen away to a lecture. Well, CDs can take up a lot of space, and not everyone has a completely stable internet connection. What format would take up less space and not depend on an active internet connection? What about USB flash drives?

A college could place an entire course’s worth of mp3s on a flash drive. CFgear offers flash drives that can hold several gigabytes of data, plenty of space for a correspondence course. During a school year, the teachers could record their lectures onto mp3 recorders or directly onto a laptop using a sound program. My school uses a setup where the teacher wears a wireless mic. That mic connects to a receiver that plugs into a small mp3 recorder. Then the teacher can just plug in the receiver, clip on the mic, on hit the record button. She’s set to go with her lecture and can just run her class as normal. Every word she says records onto the little device.

After recording, she can easily edit the sound files on a computer to clip out parts she doesn’t want and adjust the volume. The school’s technology department can do this as well if she doesn’t know how or can’t afford to use the time.

Once all the mp3 files are on a computer, the technology workers can organize these into folders by class and date. When they have all the lectures for one class, they can send these to CFgear. CFgear can preload the files onto bulk USB drives using trademarked Pulse technology. They make sure that the data loads onto the drives accurately and efficiently.

CFgear can work with the school to develop a custom layout for the USB drive. InstaRun technology allows the window to pop up instantly when you plug in the flash drive. For example, when the student plugs in the drive, a screen could come up with the college’s logo in the background. He would see links to click to listen to each of the lectures and also links to the website to submit class data.

CFgear can help a school expand its correspondence course program. Browse through their website today to see what CFgear can do with custom bulk USB drives.
