A corporate IT department has a lot on its hands to keep everything running smoothly. Workers must keep computers up-to-date with software, operating system updates, and virus and spyware protection. They have to keep hardware working, and if they can’t fix problems, decide what new hardware to buy to replace what was broken.

But probably one of the most time-consuming responsibilities of IT workers is to keep staff informed about how to use the equipment and software they have. And often they have to deal with people who aren’t necessarily the most computer literate. They must know how to communicate computer skills in non-technical ways so that all the workers can understand what to do. But they should also be aware of those who are a little more familiar with technology so those people don’t feel that they are being talked down to.

Many mid- to large-size companies offer IT training classes for employees. That way workers can choose to take what they need and skip classes over topics they may be familiar with already. For example, a new worker may be skilled in typing and formatting documents in Word, but he might not know the first thing about setting up an Access documents. These classes also help orient employees to the specific technology used in a company, how to connect to its network, etc.

To save time and money, IT workers could pre-record training sessions. They could have accompanying slideshows or interactive tutorials. These could then be saved onto flash drives that employees can use at their convenience to hear these sessions and learn about the technology in the workplace.

CF Gear can work with a company to design these custom flash drives. Depending on how much work a company wants to put into it, these drives could contain an interactive menu with links to training sessions recorded on mp3, interactive tutorials, slideshows, and whatever else IT employees think would be helpful.

They could have various sections built into the layout. One section would have information specific to the company that everyone needs to know. This would include info about the network, security protection and procedures, employee e-mail, etc.

The other sections could divide between skill level and/or job-specific information. For example, an employee in the accounting department may need to update himself on using advanced formulas in the latest version of Excel. But a secretary wouldn’t need to know all of those details and would be fun with a Word tutorial.

CF Gear can imprint these drives with the company logo or the IT department’s logo, so the users can have them at ready access and know what they are for. These would serve as an excellent addition to packets that new employees receive at orientation.

However much or little an IT department may choose to have on these flash drives, CF Gear guarantees accurate reproduction and a quality end product. You won’t regret doing business with CFGear.
