Brand New
Yes. Yes. Yes. I readily admit I have one of the most intense cases of OCD when it comes to anything related to brand. So you can imagine when it has anything to do with CFgear’s brand, folks like the ones at the local print shop know they are in for an interesting experience when something like brand new CFgear business cards comes down the pipeline.
Fact is, most people could whip out new cards in a few days. But not me. Oh no. I enjoyed obsessing about the details. After 43 revisions, however, I figured the print shop was ready to fire me. So I decided enough is enough. And well, I “think” I’m excited about the final product! And me allowing myself to say “you know what, those turned out ok!” is not a common occurrence. But the reality is, as much as I think these cards turned out “ok”, I am already working on yet another brand new approach to business cards. Trouble was, I ran out of time and had to get cards to the CFgear team. Plus, at the rate our family is expanding, there’s possible plans to head to a new location. Thus, the need for what some may call a stopgap solution. And as you now know, even a stopgap business card solution can generate many hours of trying to discern the right path to a perfect brand.
All in all, I’m not too bent out of shape by having to compromise my original approach for the business cards. Fact is, quality products take time. And well, we preach that to clients in search of premium customized flash drives dozens of times each day. So it would be hypocritical of us to want folks to invest in our attention to quality only to turn around and want the “cheapest, fastest” products…in this case business cards.
As I lined up the cards on my kitchen table, which by the way is a family heirloom, a warm fuzzy feelin’ came to me! “What a family!”, I thought. “What a great looking family!”. Of course, the cards are merely a representation of all the great characteristics of the real family here at CFgear. The company is truly blessed to have so many unique, kind, industrious and driven people on board. While most of the outside world isn’t aware of all the hoopla and shenanigans ‘round the office, I know most have come to appreciate the general spirit of whoever is helping bring their promotional flash drive project alive.
So until I get rolling on the new cards (100% recycled cotton fiber!), look forward to seeing the latest and greatest representation of “all in the family”.
