CFgear’s Rock and Roll World Tour

Ok. So maybe I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. World Tour? Heck, I don’t even have all the strings strung on my acoustic guitar. And here I am daydreaming of the rock and roll lifestyle. Can ya really blame me? I mean what thirty-something doesn’t have just an inkling of wonder inside ‘em - as in “I wonder what the Rock Star life is really like?” This is all started yesterday when I took my guitar and my son’s guitar (my first-ever guitar!) down to the local music store. My son Mack has been playing around with some power chords lately on the ol’ acoustic but it’s also missin’ a few strings plus has a mended crack on the neck. So I figured why not get the thing “tuned up” to make the playing that much more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, because of the self-mended crack, the poor guitar was beyond repair. The nice young man delivering the bad news smoothly suggested taking a gander at an electric guitar as a replacement. After all, “Kids these days have a short attention span …they want something you can plug in and get instant ‘feedback’ on!”, he wittingly proclaimed. Well that struck a chord with Mack (and I have to admit me too!). I’d learned on an acoustic. Seemed like the logical approach to playing. But there was no doubt after pluggin’ that electric guitar in, a whole new world of inspiring sounds was opened up.

For the musicians out there, I’m guessing you understand. The worlds of acoustic and electric are, well, worlds apart. And that’s basically the same difference between a basic custom flash drive and a preloaded flash drive. Each one offers wonderful features. Each one provides years of enjoyment. But many including yours truly will tell you that a preloaded flash drive is like pluggin’ in that electric guitar for the first time. The doors open up and your imagination immediately amps up. Throw promotional or informational videos on the drive. Or PowerPoint presentations. Mp3’s, pdf’s, jpeg’s, any digital content you can dream. It’s all possible to preload on a custom flash drive.

And while you or even me for that matter may not exactly be heading out on a world tour just yet, it’s reassuring to know that if and when we do, we can bring down the house with some intelligently preloaded flash drives. To the point that our audience will surely be saying “Encore! Encore!”. Ok. So maybe I’m still daydreamin’!
