Mother of All Custom Flash Drives

Ahhhh. Mother’s Day! For years I’ve celebrated this event without giving much thought to it’s origin. I mean after all, it’s Mother’s Day, right?! I mean, there must’ve always been a Mother’s Day since the day there were Mother’s to celebrate?! Then I heard my brother-in-law mention during our Sunday Brunch extravaganza that the celebration is “officially” less than a century old? Don’t ya ever wonder who in the world finally figured out, “Hey, you know what! We better make an official day of celebration and appreciation for all the Mothers of this world!!”. Well I sure became curious so I did like any sane being with access to a computer and the internet would do - I googled it. I’ll give you the skinny.

Actually, the holiday was somewhat inspired by Mothering Sunday in Britain and Ireland (way way back to the 16th Century) and imported by a social activist named Julia Ward Howe. Julia’s main objective was to have a Mother’s Day for Peace by uniting the women against war. Believe it or not, her attempts failed…that was back in 1870. It wasn’t until four decades later, in 1914, that President Woodrow Wilson officially declared Mother Day as a National holiday. Kudos to good ol’ Pres Wilson! Yet I don’t think anyone would disagree that it was many centuries over due in the States!!

Mothers seem to have this secret code of care-taking. At all costs, at all times, Mother’s have an instinctual ability to take care of their sons and daughters. And yes, because this is the one and only CFgear blog, I’m gonna say it - “CFgear is the Mother of All Custom Flash Drives!”. While we’d like it to not be at all costs, sometimes we find ourselves going the extra mile at our expense to ensure your happiness.
