Staying In Tune
It was hard for both of us to believe, but it had been 2 years almost to the day since Scott from Bob’s Piano Tuning (I think they should all just call themselves Bob!) stopped by to give our piano a little TLC. Every time Scott shows up, I’m both comforted and inspired. Comforted by the sweet sounds of him playing the piano and inspired to think of such a wonderfully rewarding profession. From the outside looking in, here’s a job where Scott can surround himself with the challenge of getting in tune. In between the time he arrives and the time he’s undoubtedly heading out for yet another job, he blends technology (his fandangled tuner device) with some nothing-fancy-about-it tools…and most importantly his passion for the sound of music!
As he was nearing the final stages of his tuning work on our piano, Scott started to play a song that immediately erased all my stress and brought a rejuvenating sense of peace and calm in my soul. “I think I was born to play the piano,” I thought to myself as he continued to play. That’s a thought that has come to mind for many years. Truth is, I merely know how to dabble on the darn keyboard. But when I do, I feel at home. I think of nothing else but the sound that’s coming to life as a experiment with different keys.
It’s been a day since Scott was here and I think I’ve changed my tune on my born-to-be-a piano-player thinking. Actually, I think I was born to listen to the piano. I love the way the passion and soul of some piano players seems to just sing while their fingers and keys almost dance. It’s a connection that brings joy to me.
Sure. The journey of flash drives is also somewhat of a dance. It takes a blend of passion and technology to bring to life customized flash drives for our customers. While I am not sure if we are each born to be in the world of promotional flash drives, I am confident each CFgear family member was born with oodles of worth ethic, passion and a genuine interest in helping others.
We think our clients pick up on that as we help ‘em fine tune their flash drives with custom touches such as packaging and preload interfaces. We know every project comes with parameters – budget and timeline at the forefront. But we take it in stride thanks to the hundreds of flash drive experiences we’ve had the good fortune of being a part of.
Hmmm. Come to think of it, I guess I should’ve asked Scott if he’d be interested in a custom “Bob’s Piano Tuning” flash drive. Who knows, maybe Bob himself is a tech guru and would opt for a custom molded flash drive in the shape of piano key? That would bring new meaning to the sometimes used term of “key drive”.
