‘Tis USBee Time
Judging from all the activity just a few window wells away from where I’m writing this article, the bees are gathering up every last bit of pollen before they head to the warmer regions of world. Lots of activity so I guess the smart part of me says to just let ‘em “bee”.

The interesting thing is that I recall seeing a tidbit in the paper about bees being extra busy this time of year. I didn’t stop to read it though. It generally takes a lot to get my attention, much more get my attention long enough to be still enough to the paper. Hmmm. Maybe I’m part bee? Well my point is that I find it kind of enjoyable to think that someone makes a career out of tracking and analyzing the behavior of bees. Just think, a lifetime of getting to know the bees. Now that’s a profession littly Jimmy rarely mentions when asked what he wants to “bee” (ok, I agree. Enough of the puns. Sorry!) when he grows up!
Yet there’s a place for us all in the all-grown-up world of ours. A place where you can feel a sense of belonging. And, well, the fam here at CFgear seems to be snuggled in nicely with the whole custom usb drive industry. Not a day goes by where someone doesn’t inspire us uniqueness or just plain good ol’ fashioned kindness. We kind of look at usb memory drives as our little technological bees I guess. It makes sense. Especially since usb drives are really active as well lately. In fact, I just read a report last night proclaiming that over half of all notebook computers will have some sort of flash drive memory in them by mid 2009. That’s tremendous news for folks in the market for custom usb flash products! Why? Because as the NAND flash market expands, the price will inevitably decline. It’s the law of supply and demand (Oh my economics professor would be so proud of me right now!). Fortunately, the supply is predicted to be more plentiful than demand. The flash drive marketplace has been buzzing with growth ever since it first came to life back in the late 90’s actually. I wonder if the inventor had any idea it would blossom to the millions of happy flash drive users today. I’m sure he didn’t envision businesses and schools using flash drives as promotional tools. Or even preloading them with intelligent interfaces? Well, I guess he invented the darn flash drive, so maybe he was smart enough to think of all that!
Oh well. We’ll just keep plugging away around here. One day at a time. Stopping to smell the roses (and read, er, glance at the newspaper) every once in a while. Maybe one of these days will take a lesson from the bees and head southward to escape old man Winter.
