USBaseball Drive
CFgear pointed southward for a few days to catch “the family’s” cousin who plays in the minor leagues for the Albuquerque Isotopes. The Isotopes are playing at Rosenblatt stadium in Omaha, Nebraska for a 4 day series so we didn’t have to go too far southward.
To further the commitment to CFgear being a family atmosphere, this journey is officially under the title of the 2nd annual Father Son vacation. So just me and my son hittin’ the road to see Tagg Bozied, our cousin, in minor league action.
Before I dive into yesterday’s wonderful events, I have to let everyone out there in the world of customized flash drives know that I’m officially a doorknob. I arrived without camera in hand for an unforgettable day at the ballpark. Tagg let us in early for batting practice and boy was that a hit with my son! I wish I would’ve been thinking about the possibility of Mack getting the VIP fan treatment. I would’ve had a handful of Tagg Bozied branded flash drives in hand! But as I said, not only did I not think enough ahead to show the minor leaguers a thing or two about the promotional usb drive industry, I committed a vacationer’s sin by not having my camera!
Tagg let us in right before the Isotopes were planning on warming up. Then Mack and Tagg disappeared down to the locker room. The next thing I know, there’s Mack all geared up in official Isotope wear and on the field, warming up with the team! No camera. Kicking myself big time! Argggh!
I’m sure Tagg knows how much that means to me, to Mack. But I don’t think anyone will ever understand how beautiful a memory that was. Seeing my son on the field with the “big boys’, knowing that he loves the game of baseball, was indeed reason to give thanks for having such a sweet cousin!
After an hour or so of trying to catch a few smash hits from some of the Isotope players during batting practice, Mack retired to the locker room with all the players. Within a few minutes he was up in the stands with me proudly wearing his new Isotope cap!
I think Tagg’s loving attention was rewarded. Let me paint the picture. Top of the 9th inning, the Isotopes are trailing by 2 runs (7-5). Bases loaded. No outs. Tagg gets up to hit. Smashes a 2 run double down the 3rd base line. Mack and I were going bazonkers!!! Then the Isotopes scored two more to enjoy a 9-7 victory over the home team, the Omaha Royals.
So I guess I better get on my game when I return to CFgear. I better get some Isotope flash drives engineered. There’s two more games this week so now that I have my camera glued to my hip, I’ll be sure to capture plenty of video and pictures so I can create some preloaded flash drives for Tagg. Then after he gets the call to “the big league”, he can have a handful of one-of-a-kind personalized flash drives.
